Option 1, Force browser install
With the force browser install button on the Incogniton home page you can force Incogniton to (re)install a browser version.
Option 2, Manual browser install
When opening Incogniton for the first time, a window should popup which asks whether you want to download the browser. This should be done before trying to start a profile.
Downloading the browser might take a while and the speed will depend on your internet connection. If the browser will still not launch and the “Update browser” window is closed, you can go through the below steps or watch the below video
Important! There’s a difference between the installation of the browser on Mac or Windows, make sure you follow the right steps.

Windows browser version 129: Step-by-step explanation for Windows (for Mac see below)
- Opening the right data directory: first step is that you need to click on ‘Home‘ in the Incogniton application. The next step is that you click on ‘Open Incogniton data directory‘.
- After you opened the data directory the folder where Incogniton is installed will come up. In this folder you need to head to the browser folder. First click on ‘Browser’, then click on version number of the browser. In this case we click on 129. The next step is that we click on ‘Win‘. You will see that the folder is empty. The location of the folder should be this: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Incogniton\Incogniton\browser\129\win
- Important! Now we are going to download the browser, you can do this by clicking on the link below. Please note! There is a difference between a 64-BIT and 32-BIT version. Make sure you download the correct version of the browser. The name of the ZIP-file that you download is ‘Update‘
- Download link for 64 bit browser (regular): https://www.incogniton.com/129IncognitonWindows64Browser
- Download link for 32 bit browser version: https://www.incogniton.com/129IncognitonWindows32Browser
- After you have downloaded the browser and the zip file called update has been saved. We then go back to the folder from Step 2. Then we unzip the file and copy the files from the unzipped folder to this folder.Testing! If all goes well, the browser should now work, you can test this by clicking on the file ‘chrome’. After a few seconds, the browser will open. You can then remove the folders ‘Update’ from the folder.
- If it works after testing, you can now get started in the application itself and create a browser profile. It is also important to know that you use the same version number in the profile settings as the version you just installed. For existing browser profiles you can check the browser version by hitting the three bullet icon on the browser profile overview, go to ‘edit‘. Then the same window will pop up. This action can also be performed in bulk.
- You can also adjust the browser version in bulk on multiple browser profiles, you can do this by clicking the option ‘Action‘, then click on ‘Modify‘ and then click on the option ‘Edit browser version‘. After that a pop up will come up where you can select which browser version you want to use in your profiles. You then need to select the browser version that you just manually installed on your device.
